An heirloom apple from Tennessee that has superb, sweet flavor and excellent resistance to all the major diseases. It even misses the summer rots by virtue of its earliness. This is our earliest apple, ripening up sometime in June. Like most early apples, it doesn’t keep well, but it makes superb apple sauce! “Strawberry” might be the given name cuz it’s ripe at the end of strawberry season, or maybe its because it does have just a hint of strawberry flavor—the origin of the name is lost as far as I can tell. Still, it is an excellent flavored, very early apple. Available only on MM.111 semi-dwarfing rootstock.
